VANCOUVER NEWS1130) – Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff made a campaign stop at an East Vancouver pharmacy today, promising a stronger pension system.
The plan includes a new low-cost, no risk, and tax-deductible option. It sounds like an RRSP, but it would be managed by the Canadian Pension Plan.
Ignatieff says he wants to ensure no senior in this country lives in poverty. “We’re making a commitment today to enhance the guaranteed income supplement by $700 million.”
The Liberals have already said they plan to roll back corporate tax cuts enacted by the Conservatives to help pay for their spending promises.
