VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – HST credit cheques are in the mail for people in the province who qualify.
Chief Economist Helmut Pastrick with Central 1 Credit Union says there are various estimates on what the net impact of the tax will be on families.
He adds there are estimates some families who make $20,000 to $25,000 a year will likely break even after the tax credit is applied.
“It really depends on a families set of expenditures. I think overall for most households in BC there will be a net increase in tax payable.”
The credit is paid four times a year.
