Giant basket of Easter weekend activities in Metro Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There’s no shortage of family Easter weekend activities around Metro Vancouver.

Pack the kids in the car and head to the Easter Fair at Bear Creek Park Train in Surrey. There will be an egg hunt, face painting, and train rides. And shhh, word has it the Easter Bunny himself be there.

It’s International Children’s Day today. The Ukrainian Cultural Centre is holding a festival April 23, 1 p.m to 5 p.m.

The annual Vaisakhi parade takes place Saturday afternoon in Surrey. It’s one of the most important festivals in the Sikh calendar and celebrates both the Sikh New Year festival and the anniversary of the founding of the Khalsa in 1699.

Until Monday, celebrate Easter at Stanley Park’s Miniature Railway. Bring your Easter basket as the Easter bunny will be dropping by.

It’s Easter at the Roundhouse in Yaletown on Sunday. Enjoy an Easter egg hunt followed by crafts, face painting, balloon animals and more. No need to bring a basket, you’ll be making one! Pre-registration required.

Drop by Kitsilano Community Centre for an Easter Egg-stravaganza filled with fun activities for all ages. Pre-registration required. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Richmond Easter event happens at Hamilton Community Centre with crafts, games and an Easter egg hunt. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Decorate your Easter basket and egg and hop around like bunnies as you search for eggs at the farm Easter egg hunt at the Historic Stewart Farmhouse in Surrey. Saturday, 1:30 to 3 p.m.

And finally, learn about the real Easter bunny, along with other animals like dogs and parrots and other animals at the Easter Fair at the Surrey Museum.
