OTTAWA – It seems the popularity of the NDP just keeps growing across Canada.

A new poll conducted by Forum Research, released Wednesday, has the New Democrats just three points behind the Conservatives.

The latest numbers have the NDP sitting at 31 per cent with the Conservatives holding onto a slim lead of 34 per cent.

According to the latest poll, the Liberals continue their slide and are now sitting at 22 per cent.

Lorne Bozinoff, president of Forum Research told 680News this is shaping up to be a historic election.

“it wont’ be known for the sheer size of the win but it will be in terms of the change that happened during the election. This is pretty dramatic.

The group has also done a seat projection, which gives the Conservatives 137 MP’s, the NDP 108 MP’s, the Liberals at 60 MP’s.  The Bloc takes the biggest hit in the seat projection with just three spots allocated to them.

31-hundred people took part in the survey.
