Mother and son bear sprayed in a fight over stray cat

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A fight over a stray cat has landed a 30-year old Kelowna man in hot water after RCMP say he bear sprayed a mother and her eight-year-old son.
Last Friday, Mounties say a drunk woman got into a shoving match with the mom at her door. Soon after, someone saw the man kick the family’s door and go inside.
He hit the mother and her son with bear spray and took off.
It appears the dispute started over a stray cat that the family had found in the neighborhood a couple of months before.
Cops arrested the man and the drunk woman soon after and he could be charged with break and enter, possession of a weapon, and assault with a weapon. He’s been released on a condition of no contact with the victims.
