Terry Fox’s mother seriously ill, in a hospice

CHILLIWACK (NEWS1130) – Betty Fox, mother of Terry Fox, is in a hospice battling a serious illness. Earlier reports that she is sick with cancer are untrue.
A statement from the Fox family confirms news the matriarch is seriously ill, but is asking for privacy at this time. The family isn’t saying what Betty is suffering from.
Betty’s children — Darrell, Fred, and Judy — are with her at this sensitive time, as is her husband Rolly.
Betty was onhand for the unveiling of a new memorial statue outside BC Place designed by Douglas Copeland.
It’s been 30 years this month that Betty’s son Terry died of cancer after finishing his Marathon of Hope. Every year, we participate in the Terry Fox Run to remember what Terry did and to raise funds for cancer research.
The Terry Fox Foundation has set up a webpage where people can send messages of support to Betty.
