Canadian citizen killed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

PUERTO VALLARTA (NEWS1130) – Foreign Affairs has confirmed that a Canadian citizen has been killed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

The ministry hasn’t released any details about the identity of the victim, only saying that they are working closely with local authorities. However, Mexican media reports identify the victim as a 62-year-old man from Penticton, BC. He was apparently stabbed at least 25 times on May 30th.

The reports say the man’s Mexican wife found his body when she came home after dropping their children off at school. About $20,000 was also stolen.

It’s believed the man had been working in Mexico setting up satellite TV systems.
