Balsillie’s NHL dream not over

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Research In Motion co-CEO Jim Balsillie’s dream of becoming an NHL team owner may be closer to coming to fruition than it has ever been.
Forbes Magazine Senior Editor Mike Ozanian tells us NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has told Balsillie that if he respects protocol, he’ll be rewarded with a franchise. Ozanian says Balsillie essentially blew his chance at acquiring the Phoenix Coyotes by vowing to move the team to Hamilton, and by selling season tickets without having actually been awarded the franchise.
Ozanian says Balsillie is an attractive prospective owner because he is one of very few people with lots of money, who actually wants to own an NHL team.
