Canucks lose Mason Raymond for Game 7

BOSTON, MA. (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks not only lost Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final 5-2 in Boston last night but they have also lost forward Mason Raymond for a long time.

Raymond was hit by Bruins defenceman Johnny Boychuk on his first shift of the game in the first period and he did not return to the game.

In fact, Raymond left the TD Garden on a stretcher and spent the night in hospital.

Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis announced that Raymond sustained a vertebrae compressure fracture and is expected to be out of the lineup for 3-4 months which likely means he won’t ready for training camp.

Gillis was very upset that there was no penalty call on the play.

The NHL says that there will not further review of the hit by Boychuk.

Jeff Tambellini is an option for the Canucks to replace Raymond in Game 7 tomorrow night in Vancouver.
