Impressive record in CFL pre-season play for Lions

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s decision time for GM Wally Buono after the BC Lions wrapped up their two-game CFL pre-season last night with a convincing 34-6 win at home over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Buono’s squad outscored opponents 58-6 in two exhibition games; that includes a 24-0 win in Calgary. A veteran lineup was dressed in both games as Bouno does not want his team to get off to a 1-7 start like they did last season. With the Grey Cup in Vancouver this year, the GM can’t afford another bad start.

Central Washington quarterback Mike Reilly looks good to win the third-string QB job after he threw two touchdown passes against the Roughriders. Reilly is battling Corey Leonard for a job on the roster. Leonard completed just two passes on 12 attempts in his two pre-season games; one was intercepted by a Saskatchewan player.

Bouno’s roster sits at 60 players and the team has to get down to a league-mandated 46 on Saturday.
