Large drug bust in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – There are drug busts and then there are really big drug busts.

Abbotsford Police pulled up in their armoured, tank-like truck and found three kilograms of cocaine inside a home on Bakerview Street near Peardonville Road Thursday night.

Heroin, a replica handgun, and $2,600 in cash were seized as well. Constable Ian MacDonald claims gangsters didn’t plan on keeping the drugs there for long:

“It looks like gangs, at least in our neck of the woods, are changing things up a bit,” he says. “They’re trying to move their stashes quickly and are changing locations because of the amount of enforcement we’re doing out here.”

Three men between 19 and 27 years old were arrested inside. MacDonald says they have gang links but won’t say whether it’s to the Duhre Group or the United Nations.
