Will and Kate get warm reception on Prince Edward Island

CHARLOTTETOWN (NEWS1130) – Prince William and Kate have arrived on Prince Edward Island, after spending much of their day in Quebec.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrapped up day four of their royal tour with an informal reception at Charlottetown’s famous Peake’s Quay restaurant.

It was a casual end to a hectic day that saw the royal couple make several stops in Quebec City, where William addressed Quebecers in French at one point, hailing their “vitality and vigour.”

The pair were also exposed to protests from sovereigntists who don’t support the monarchy, but the demonstrators weren’t able to disrupt the royal itinerary.

William and Kate explore parts of P.E.I tomorrow with stops in Dalvay-by-the-Sea and Summerside, where they’ll take part in a number of hands-on activities, including a dragon-boat race against Premier Robert Ghiz.

Yellowknife and Calgary are the other upcoming stops on the royal tour. The couple will leave for California on July 8.

Kate’s fashion statement

It was a regal repeat for Kate as she chose to wear a dress from Canadian designer Erdem in Quebec City on Saturday for the second time during the royal tour.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a dark blue lace Jacquenta dress from Erdem Moralioglu, who is from Quebec.

The Montreal-born, London-based Moralioglu behind the Erdem label created another lacy frock worn by Kate on Day 1 of her first official visit abroad.
