Lots of daylight for William and Kate in Yellowknife

By

YELLOWKNIFE – Prince William and Kate have landed in Yellowknife for the northernmost part of their nine-day royal tour.

They’ll have plenty of daylight for their visit to the Northwest Territories, where it never gets darker than twilight this time of year.

A couple hundred people turned out under grey skies and a light drizzle to greet the couple.

They flew in from Prince Edward Island, where they sampled lobster, took part in a traditional smudging ceremony and watched Acadian dancing.

They also competed in a dragon-boat race – William’s team won – and the prince practised landing on the water in a Sea King helicopter.

The couple will try another water craft when they go for a canoe ride on Tuesday.
