Day six of Will & Kate Canadian royal visit, now in Yellowknife

By

The royal tour has hit the land of the midnight sun.

Prince William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, respectively, are in Yellowknife, N.W.T., for day six of their Canadian visit.

Darkness never really falls in Yellowknife this time of year, but the crowd of a few hundred people certainly lit up when the Duke and Duchess stepped off the plane Monday night.

A tweet from Hello! Canada said: “Will & Kate are taking so much time with people. They’re sharing so much of themselves with each person in spite of the size of the crowds.”

A prayer drum song, a street hockey game and canoeing are all on the agenda during this 36-hour stopover.

The royal family has a long history of stopping through Yellowknife. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Prince Andrew have all visited this northern capital.

On Wednesday, the couple will have some private time to relax before ending their tour at the Calgary Stampede on Friday.
