Former champ commits to play in Canadian Open

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The field for this month’s RBC Canadian Open grew by three today with Vijay Singh, Camilo Villegas and Geoff Ogilvy confirming that they will compete July 18-24 at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club

Singh’s 34 PGA Tour victories include the 2004 Canadian Open. Ogilvie is a seven-time winner while Villegas has three tour victories.

The field for the tournament already boasts some of the game’s greats like World No. 1 Luke Donald, Jim Furyk, Ernie Els, 2010 British Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen and 2011 Masters Champion Charl Schwartzel.  Tournament director Bill Paul calls this year’s field “the strongest in recent history”.
