VERNON (NEWS1130) – A 600-kilometre journey has come to an end for a family from Vernon.

Mom Natalie Preston says six kids, siblings and cousins, ran four kilometres twice a day since leaving Vernon on Canada Day. “My son, he’s nine, Michael. He came home from school last year, they were learning about Terry Fox, fell in love with the whole idea how he’d ran and the whole, bit, came home and asked me how he could do one.”

Six siblings and cousins aged six to 15, took part, running an average of 48 kilometres a day.

The family is hoping to raise $20,000 for cancer research.
