Main stage collapses at Ottawa Bluesfest

OTTAWA (NEWS1130) – An Ottawa park has been evacuated after the main stage collapsed at Ottawa Bluesfest.
A 46-year-old man is fighting for his life, after getting punctured in his abdomen. That same man has a broken leg and pelvis. Ten other people were also injured.
Very intense winds and rain caused extensive damage around the site as festival attendees sought shelter.
Classic rock artists Cheap Trip were nearing the end of their set when the main MBNA stage fell backwards on equipment along the side of the parkway. Cheap Trick has posted on Facebook that no one from the band was injured.
Videos of the collapse have begun appearing on social media websites including YouTube.
