VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The BC Teachers Federation says it will have little impact on students and parents. But how will the first phase of job action change the start of the school year?
There will be no report cards or staff meetings, and teachers won’t be doing nearly as much paperwork. The BCTF says the job action is meant to target the administration — not the kids — and this will give them more time to focus on student learning.
There won’t be detentions, school photos, or standardized tests. There’s also the possibility of fewer extracurricular activities, too.
The Vancouver Sun reports contract negotiations are set to resume on August 23rd.
