Toronto cabbie charged with sexually assaulting passengers

TORONTO, Ont. – A cab driver in Toronto has been charged with sexual assault after it was alleged he sexually assaulted two of his fares over the weekend.

Police say a man and woman hailed a taxi while in the entertainment district early Saturday morning.

They were then driven to the Pape and Gowan Avenues area, where, during the trip, it’s alleged the driver reached into the back seat and sexually assaulted the woman.

The woman was able to get out of the cab, but the driver then locked the door and began driving away.

It’s alleged a short time later the cabbie sexually assaulted the male passenger, who eventually was able to escape and call police.

Feisal Galbat, 51, of Toronto, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and forcible confinement.

Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or experienced a similar incident over the past several months.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
