BURNABY (NEWS1130) – As university students get ready to head back-to-class, News1130 is looking at which programs are in the most demand.
The folks at Simon Fraser University say criminology, business and economics are once again at the top of the list and they’re seeing a lot of growth in psychology, environment and computer sciences.
Pat Mathieu with BCIT says there’s an increased demand for nursing and both schools say engineering is going strong.
“I think engineering programs have become more accessible. In the past they were really considered elitist.”
There is one area that isn’t as popular as the rest of them. “When we look at the fine arts, we’re not seeing the kind of growth that other areas are seeing,” says SFU’s Tim Raleigh.
