Record temperatures over the weekend

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It was scorching over many parts of the province over the weekend.  News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate says a bunch of temperature records were smashed across BC, especially over the Interior region.

“We had record highs set in Kelowna at 31.8 degrees and Whistler reached 31.2 degrees.  Lytton hit 36.2 degrees, smashing the old mark of 35.6 degrees which dated back to 1944.”

Closer to home it was all hot air in Sea-to-Sky country.  We’ve set records for Whistler and Pemberton for five afternoons in a row.

And don’t forget about the News1130 Weather Guarantee.  The jackpot starts at $1000, then grows by $100 for everyday that Russ Lacate correctly predicts the forecast high within three degrees of the official number recorded at the airport.  Right now there is $9,200 up for grabs.
