Will Ferrell to receive Mark Twain prize for humour

WASHINGTON (NEWS1130) – The Kennedy Center says actor Will Ferrell will receive the Mark Twain prize for American humour, the top US award in that field, in a ceremony Oct. 23rd.

Ferrell starred for seven seasons on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ a TV comedy show, perfecting his imitation of President George W. Bush that he later took to Broadway.

His longtime collaborator Adam McKay from the films ‘Anchorman,’ ‘Talladaga Nights’ and ‘The Other Guys’ will appear at the ceremony.

Among those saluting Ferrell will be comedian Conan O’Brien, former talk show host Larry King, and Maya Rudolph and Molly Shannon, members of the ‘Saturday Night Live’ cast.
