VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s not something a lot of us want to think about; while most baby boomers have wills, many haven’t bothered updating them in years.
Nine in 10 have wills prepared, but a study from BMO Trust Company finds almost half haven’t updated them over the past decade.
The CEO of BMO Trust says we shouldn’t underestimate the importance of revising our wills on a regular basis because our lives can change quickly. That can include anything from our personal wealth or marital status to the birth or death of a loved one.
The study also found that one of the main reasons boomers believe having a will is so important is so their family is protected and looked after.
So, why aren’t some people even bothering with a will? Most say they just don’t have the time.
