NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It was a fast race, but no new record at the BMO Grouse Grind Mountain Run.
Sebastian Salas was trying to break the record he set last year of 25:01 but finished a few seconds slower this time. “It’s still unofficial but it was somewhere around 25:15, so a little bit slower than last year.”
He admits he was a bit nervous before this year’s race. “One of the top US mountain runners came out to try and give me a run for the money and it was really tough out there. We were neck-in-neck for the first 10 to 15 minutes of the run.”
Salas is a professional cyclist and trains by biking all around North America.
