VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The 30th annual Vancouver International Film Festival has kicked off, and movie-goers are in for a quite the selection of flicks.
Vancouver film director Frank Wolf is looking forward to the premiere of his new documentary, On the Line. The film documents his hiking, rafting, and kayaking trip across BC and Alberta along the path of the proposed Northern Gateway oil pipeline.
“With VIFF it’s a broad ranging film festival – basically the entire gamut of films – so to be able to tap into an audience like that, especially for my type of film, is kind of a rare opportunity and I definitely relish it,” he tells News1130.
“In an hour I can tell you about a two-month journey and really bring an audience into the experience.”
This is the third year Wolf has shown a film at VIFF.
The world premiere of On the Line is on Oct. 6. The festival runs until Oct. 14.
