Certain Prolab brand protein products recalled

TORONTO, Ont. – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people with milk and/or gluten allergies not to consume certain Prolab brand protein products.

The affected products contain milk and/or wheat and gluten, which are not declared on the label.

The products have been distributed in Ontario and possibly nationally, but there have been no reported illnesses so far.

The U.S. manufacturer, Prolab Nutrition of Chatsworth, Calif., has voluntarily recalled the affected products.

The agency is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Canadian importers to have the affected product removed from the marketplace.
