Many people ditched the grocery store on Saturday to do their last-minute Thanksgiving shopping in the sun.
The Carp Farmer’s Market Harvest Celebration was filled with city shoppers like Rhonda who were hunting for fresh ingredients!
“We’re mainly buying things for Thanksgiving,” said Rhonda. “Squash, melons, apples.”
Others, like Lindsey were looking for one specific ingredient.
“I’m going to making a pie,” said Lindsey. “Huckleberry pie, huckleberry pie. If I don’t get some I think I’m going to die,” she chanted.
Some people opted for an easier desert option and bought home-made pumpkin pies and butter tarts sold by local vendors.
The Harvest Celebration also included cooking demonstrations, old antique farm equipment and an art show.
