Kesler playing tomorrow

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Forward Ryan Kesler has confirmed he will be in the line-up tomorrow night against the New York Rangers.  Earlier today, the Vancouver Canucks assigned defenceman Chris Tanev to the team’s Chicago Wolves American Hockey League affiliate.

The return is at least two weeks ahead of schedule in Kesler’s rehab from hip surgery over the summer.  He had the procedure in late July and at the time it was predicted he would be out until at least early November.

Kesler was centering Cody Hodgson and Chris Higgins at practice this morning.  Kesler’s agent, Kurt Overhardt, tells News1130 Sports that he isn’t surprised that Kesler is playing so soon.

It’s believed the 27-year-old Kesler tore his labrum while on the forecheck in Game 5 against the San Jose Sharks during last year’s playoffs.

Game time tomorrow is at 7 p.m.
