Study finds women without kids not as healthy as those who do

By

An Australian study has suggested that women who don’t have children are not as healthy as women who do.

Researchers examined the physical and mental healthy of 50 women who didn’t have children, compared with the health of women who do have children.

They found that, generally, the women without kids were in poorer overall health and had lower scores on measures of mental health, vitality and social functioning.

Researchers did point out that the poor health results could be the actual cause of the women not having children – and not the other way around.

They also noted that their health could have been negatively affected by societal pressures to have children.

The study didn’t examine all of the reasons why the women without kids did not have any children.
