Brendan scores three, but Brandon wins

BRANDON, MB (NEWS1130) – Brendan Gallagher scored three goals for Vancouver in the first 36 minutes of the game, but the Giants couldn’t hold on as the Wheat Kings scored the last three goals to win 5-4 in the WHL.

Gallagher’s scored his last two goals, 93 seconds apart early in the second to give his team a 4-2 advantage. Brandon evened the game mid-way through the middle frame, when they potted a pair of power play goals in 1:01 span.

Matt Stone bagged the winner 35 seconds into the third for the Wheaties.

Levi Bews had the other Giants goal, while Neil Manning, Marek Tvrdon and James Henry each earned two assists each for Vancouver.

The Giants are now 2-1-1 on their six game eastern swing.  Don Hay’s crew will play in Regina on Friday and Swift Current on Saturday.
