MEXICO CITY (NEWS1130) – A 6.8-magnitude earthquake has struck Mexico’s western Guerrero state, causing buildings to sway as far away as the nation’s capital. There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Service says the quake registered a preliminary magnitude of 6.8 and was centred about 126 kilometres north of Acapulco.
High-rises swayed in the centre of Mexico City, and shoppers were temporarily herded out of some shopping centres.
