Gallaghers return has Giant impact on Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – In his first game back after earning a bronze medal with Canada, Brendan Gallagher had three goals and four assists as Vancouver doubled Portland 8-4 in front of over 10-thousand fans.

After World Junior Hockey championship business in Calgary, the Giants also welcomed back coach Don Hay, as well as Marek Tvrdon and defenceman David Musil.

Gallagher now has 53 points in 29 games and leads the Giants with 27 goals.

Captain James Henry also earned four assists in the game.

The five-foot-nine veteran from Delta has missed a dozen games this season on duty for his country and for time spent at Montreal Canadiens training camp. Vancouver is 19-8-1-1 with Gallagher on the ice and 6-6 without him according to the Vancouver Sun.

Former Montreal great Guy Lafleur was at the game.

The Giants host Prince George on Tuesday.
