SURREY (NEWS1130) – A bizarre incident in Surrey overnight when a suspicious package blew up on the front steps of Surrey home around 83rd Avenue and 151 Street.  It happened around 2:30 a.m.

It’s unclear if the attack was targeted as Surrey RCMP Staff Sergeant Blair McCall can’t confirm whether the homeowner as a criminal record.  “From the sounds of it I don’t think this was a prank but it also is not common, in my experience.  And there is no motive at this point.”

He adds that thankfully no one was hurt.  “It doesn’t sound like that it was that huge of an explosion, as indicated, any kind of fire or residue from the package was extinguished by the homeowner before we even got there.”

The damage was minor and they don’t have anyone in custody.
