Snowfall warning cancelled

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The overnight snow may have been pretty to look at but it was tough for drivers to navigate.

Some routes like the Scott Road Hill from Old Yale Road to 104th Avenue were closed for several hours, as was Oxford Street and others in White Rock south of Thrift Avenue.  By the morning, the snow had stopped or turned into rain, so things were pretty slushy out there.

Environment Canada has called off the snowfall warning for both Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, but we are expecting flurries on Sunday.

The snow didn’t have any impact on our transit system.  “The Coast Mountain Bus Company is not expecting problems at this time.  Some of the higher elevations got more snow than others, such as Burnaby Mountain and the North Shore.  Road clearing is either underway or it has already been done.  Services are expected to be normal,” says TransLink‘s Drew Snider.
