Man facing additional child porn charges

MONCTON, N.B. – A 34 year-old New Brunswick man has been charged with seven additional counts in connection with an investigation into child sexual abuse images and text.
RCMP say Shane Evan McCabe of no fixed address was charged today with two counts of making child pornography, two counts of distributing child pornography, two of accessing child porn, and one of possession of child porn.
McCabe appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Friday afternoon on one count of producing child pornography.
Police say it involved written text describing sexual contact with children under the age of 16.
The charges come after a year-long investigation by Edmundston City Police and the RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
They say the investigation began last March when images of child sexual abuse were found scattered around Edmundston.
