Canadian killed in Florida standoff

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (NEWS1130) – Ovila Plante, 76, of Quebec has been killed in the shooting and hostage taking in a Florida RV park.
Police say William De Jesus, 37, shot Plante in the chest and head and then barricaded himself in Plante’s trailer with his wife and two children.
De Jesus and his nine-year-old son were found dead in the trailer after a seven-hour standoff. The other two members of his family were badly hurt.
Police say De Jesus first stabbed his sons with a knife, then stabbed his wife and himself.
The RV park is in Deerfield Beach, north of Fort Lauderdale.
