CHARDON, OHIO (NEWS1130) – A 17-year-old boy wounded in a school shooting in Chardon, Ohio has been declared brain dead.

Russell King Junior is the second student to have died in the shooting at Chardon High School east of Cleveland. Daniel Parmetor, 16, died hours after the shooting.

Student Tyler Lillash says it’s hard to accept the fact that a good friend is gone.

“I started crying uncontrolably.  I’ve known Danny for 6 years. I don’t know how to handle it to be honest.”

Three other students remain in hospital.

The suspect in yesterday’s deadly shooting will appear in court today. He is accused of opening fire in Chardon High’s cafeteria.

A student who saw the attack up close said it appeared that the gunman targeted a group of students sitting together and that one victim was gunned down while trying to duck under the cafeteria table.

The FBI confirms the suspect was arrested near his car about one kilometre from Chardon.  They will not comment on motive.
