Daniel Sedin returns to Canucks practice

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks could have forward Daniel Sedin back in the line-up for their playoff opener Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings.

Daniel (concussion) has been out since March 21 when he was elbowed in the head by Chicago’s Duncan Keith. He joined his teammates for main practice today and was reunited on the top line with Alex Burrows and brother Henrik. The Canucks did not make Daniel available to reporters today.

“He looked good. It’s going to be a medical decision. We’ll see how he’s doing tomorrow,” said coach Alain Vigneault who also admitted that Daniel skated on his own before Monday’s practice, but Vigneault would not say how many times he had taken a separate skate.

Forward Zack Kassian was also on the ice for the main skate. Kassian missed the last two games of the regular season with a suspected shoulder injury suffered in their win over Anaheim last Thursday.

Defenseman Keith Ballard is also close to returning from a concussion that has sidelined the veteran blueliner for almost two months. Ballard did take part in the full practice as well.

The Canucks appear to be getting healthy at the right time with just two days until their first round playoff opener with the Kings on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
