ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – The police officer plead guilty to using too much force during a shoplifting arrest in September 2009, but the Abbotsford Police constable with six years experience is still getting paid.

Cst. Adam Page now goes before the police complaints commissioner.

Cst. Ian MacDonald with Abbotsford Police says there can be ramifications for Page’s actions, “About employment, discipline, suspension, or in some instances, no additional remedy if that’s determined as well.”

A judge handed Page a conditional discharge with one year’s probation.

The fate of Page’s job is now in the hands the police complaints commissioner.
