Seven killed in head-on collision on Alberta highway

WANDERING RIVER, Alta –  Seven people have been killed and two are injured in a head-on collision on one of Alberta’s deadliest highways.
    
Police say the crash between happened Friday afternoon when a pickup truck tried to pass another vehicle on Highway 63 and collided with another pickup.
    
Police say there was a significant fire as a result of the crash.
    
Six of the victims died at the scene — Two of the dead were in the northbound truck with the injured teen, who police say was pulled from a burning vehicle by passing motorists prior to emergency crews arriving on scene. She was airlifted to hospital but later died.

A 34-year-old man and a young boy were injured in the crash.
    
The conditions of the two injured are not known, but they have been also airlifted to an Edmonton hospital.
    
It was snowing in the area at the time of the crash on the two-lane, undivided highway.
