Body parts sent to Vancouver schools linked to Magnotta case

MONTREAL (NEWS1130) – Montreal police have confirmed that the DNA from body parts delivered to two schools in Vancouver last week belong to Jun Lin, the Chinese student killed and dismembered last month.

A hand was delivered to False Creek Elementary on June 5th, while a foot was delivered to St George’s the same day.

Lin’s torso was discovered in a suitcase outside a working-class apartment building in Montreal on May 29th. A hand and foot were also mailed to political parties in Ottawa.

The murder of Lin sparked an international manhunt which led to the arrest in Berlin last week of Luka Rocco Magnotta, a porn actor and model who police say was acquainted with the Lin. He is still awaiting extradition to Canada from Germany.

Magnotta is charged with first-degree murder in Lin’s death.
