Man charged in Kitsilano axe attack

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A man accused of attacking his roommate with an axe in Kitsilano has now been charged.
Vancouver Police say 43-year old Engbert Arthur Yonkman has been charged with aggravated assault and possessing a dangerous weapon after a man was spotted bleeding from the neck near 4th and MacDonald on Tuesday night.
The victim was treated for cuts to his head, neck, and arm before being released.
Police say it appears the attack happened after the two men got into a fight about property.
