Mangoes recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination

OTTAWA, ON (NEWS1130) – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a warning about certain Daniella brand mangoes because of possible Salmonella contamination.
The mangoes from Mexico and were sold at stores in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon as individual fruit with a sticker bearing PLU# 4959.
The affected fruit was in stores between July 12 to August 14. The agency has already instructed the shops to remove them from their shelves.
So far, there have been 17 confirmed cases of the illness in BC, and five in Alberta.
The Salmonella bacteria can cause serious and sometimes even deadly infections.
