East & West end blaze cause over 150,000$ in damage.

An apartment in the city’s East end has extensive smoke damage after a blaze Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called to a building at 1043 Cummings Avenue and found heavy smoke was coming out of the third floor unit. Tenants on the 2nd and 3rd floor were evacuated.
Crews quickly put out the blaze.
Damage is estimated at $25,000 to the building and $15,000 to the contents.
The cause has yet to be determined
The unit’s tenant was out of town.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out Sunday evening in the West-end,
Crews were called to a two-storey building at 138 Carruthers Avenue where they found a kitchen burning.
A 56-year-old man is in stable but critical condition with 1st degree burns to his face and second degree burns to both arms and shoulders.
Upon arrival, paramedics found the man attempting to extinguish the blaze.
He was stabilized and treated at the scene by Paramedics.
Damage is estimated at $110,000
The cause is still unknown.
