Parents, children return to back-to-school routine

By

TORONTO, Ont. – Parents may be dealing with some back-to-school apprehension, Tuesday, as children head back to the routine after a summer of staying up late and sleeping in.

There was lots of excitement and nervous energy at Carlton Village Public School, at St. Clair Avenue West and Davenport Road, ahead of the school bell.

Carl, who was holding his father’s hand on the walk to school, will be heading into Grade 1. He said he is feeling “happy” about school but is looking forward to recess.

Parents and children are also dealing with back-to-school jitters.

“He’s been a little bit anxious the last week or two,” one parent said of his child.

“Well, I am going to my new school, so I’m excited to see how it looks like, and I really want to fit in,” one child said.
