No toll refunds for Golden Ears holdups: TransLink

By

MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS1130) – TransLink will not be refunding tolls to drivers who got held up on the Golden Ears Bridge this morning after a serious accident closed the northbound lanes.

“We have looked at other systems across North America — the electronic systems and the non-electronic systems — and we looked at their ‘good will’ policies when something like this happens,” explains Drew Snider with the transit authority.

“Quite frankly, none of them offers a refund for tolls,” he adds.

“It’s like if we have a SkyTrain disruption, we don’t refund the ticket prices to our customers for that. [We’re] always reviewing our policies… [so we] can get the best customer service possible,” he tells us.

He suggests drivers give themselves plenty of time when they start their commute, just in case something like this happens again.
