New parents have trouble reconnecting between the sheets

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Sometimes new parents have a little trouble reconnecting under the sheets, and it seems it might have a lot to do with reconnecting verbally.

One sex therapist knows what works and what doesn’t. It seems communication is key.

Dr. Teesha Morgan says it’s especially important when it comes to preventing the whole thing from unexpectedly happening again.

“Only 15 per cent of couples have actually spoken with each other about contraceptive and about 14 per cent have not consulted anyone including their doctor,” she explains. “That’s a really big finding.”

A Leger marketing survey says even those that do talk about things like contraception maybe don’t look at all their options. More than a quarter have used the withdrawal method, while 21 per cent go for abstinence.
