SURREY (NEWS1130) – Sometimes getting cut off in traffic can be a good thing.
Transit Police on their way to work stumbled upon a pretty big drug and weapons bust.
The pair were driving to work at Surrey Central SkyTrain Thursday night when an uninsured car cut them off.
After pulling over the vehicle, they found a 9-mm handgun and a loaded magazine, one other handgun and a replica gun, drugs, a large amount of cash and four cell phones in the back.
The two men were known to police and were arrested.
Austin Lopez, 19, of Surrey faces drugs and weapons charges, and Mathew Eakin, 21, of Burnaby faces trafficking and weapons charges.
Eakin is also a suspected Stanley Cup rioter. He was already charged with participating in a riot, break and enter and mischief.
