Damian Lewis wins Emmy Award for lead actor in a drama series

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Damian Lewis of “Homeland” wins the Emmy Award for best actor in a drama.
Lewis plays Nicholas Brady, the former POW suspected of being a double agent in the Showtime drama. He beat Bryan Cranston of AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” who was seeking his fourth Emmy in this category.
Other nominees were Jon Hamm of AMC’s “Mad Men,” Hugh Bonneville of PBS’ “Downton Abbey,” Steve Buscemi of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” and Michael C. Hall of Showtime’s “Dexter.”
The 64th Primetime Emmys are airing live from the Nokia Theatre L.A., with Jimmy Kimmel as host.
