Infighting continues for BC Conservatives

VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – The infighting continues for the BC Conservative Party.  Two constituency associations have issued an open letter rejecting John Cummins’ demand that party members support him or leave.

The letter is addressed to the embattled leader and party president Al Siebring.  It’s signed by the bosses of the Surrey-White Rock and North Burnaby constituency associations.

The authors claim there are at least 20 constituency associations calling for the leader’s resignation.

“I personally feel, through my studies in my MBA in leadership, that John Cummins is not demonstrating the leadership qualities that I have come to know and expect from a leader,” says Allison Patton with the CA in Surrey-White Rock.

On Sunday, Cummins issued an ultimatum with a deadline for noon on Wednesday, demanding “dissidents” in the party either support him or resign.

“We are not resigning,” says Patton. “We will continue to stand as we are.”

The last line of the letter tells Cummins, “we are not leaving – but we ask, for the sake of the party, that you do.”
